What is the Stylophone DF-8 Portable Analog Multi-filter?

The DF-8 is a standalone synth nicknamed “The Beauty & the Beast” because it blends a smooth classic 2045 low-pass filter with the bold, aggressive GEN R-8 filter. It can create anything from gentle tones to full sonic chaos.

How do I use the DF-8?

Simply turn on and begin to experiment with the knobs to shape it. You can use its two filter channels, envelopes, sample-and-hold, white noise, and gritty PT2399 delay to sculpt, modulate, or completely transform your audio.

What features does the DF-8 have?

It features two analog filters with 8 filter types each, ADSR envelopes, VCAs, white noise, sample-and-hold with slew, a vintage delay, 14 modular patch points, a mixer, stereo outputs, and a built-in speaker. It works as both a filter and a standalone sound-design box.

How can I power and what can I connect to the DF-8?

The DS2 and DF8 can both be powered by a PSU. Specs: 12v 1000ma centre positive 5.5mm/2.1mm (pin) barrel plug. For added portability, it also runs on batteries (x 6 AA) which are included 

You can connect synths, drum machines, and other audio sources, and patch it into modular setups. Its ribbed CPM enclosure lets you lock it together with other CPM units or mount it in a Eurorack-style desk.
